Today, after opening my email account to check my inbox, I received another Paypal scam titled "Please Restart Your Paypal Account". Of course I already know it is a bogus email because of obvious reason, the email address where I received it wasn't the one I use for my Paypal transactions. They can't fool me ;0
If you did receive the same email as the photo shown below, ignore it - or better delete it. It is purely a scam mail from hackers. Do not click the link - if you do, the one who sent you the email will be given the chance to hack your Paypal account.
Better delete it before you get sorry afterwards!!!

Speaking of scam, I think CustomOrderThis.com should be included in the list.
I joined this program months ago because I was hooked by their offer "Receive $250 for 5 referrals". Of course, it was too good to be true. But because the program is free, I joined because I got nothing to lose. Right after my account was activated, I begun posting my affiliate link here in my blog and gladly, I was able to get 85 referrals. I was aiming for the "Receive $1,000 for 20 referrals", and I was happy knowing I get that number of people who joined under me.
Of course, only 20 among my 85 referrals will be counted, but they have to complete at least one offer so I get 1 credit from them. 20 credits is equivalent to $1,000.
Last week, when I try to login my account to check my status, it seems that the page is no longer existing. I visited it everyday until today but I just get disappointed. Due to my disappointment, I finally accepted and admit to myself that it is scam.
I am not sure if you also experienced this. If you are a member of CustomOrderThis, can you do me a favor? Will you try to login your account and see if the page still exists. Well, if this is another scam, then so be it. I lost nothing with this program, except some time of course.
I guess I have to try my luck with other programs ;0
Earlier today, I came to a blog post wherein the author was claiming that Project Wonderful is scam. She listed several reasons why she thinks it is not genuine. I can't blame her for those things she enumerated because after all, it's her own opinion. I have to respect that. If she thinks it is scam then so be it.
In contrast to her post, I would like to give my opinion about Project Wonderful if it is scam or not. I joined this online opportunity last month, April 1 and exactly 30 days after joining, I earned the $10 minimum pay-out . I made a request immediately to check if it really pays and they did paid me within 24 hours upon request. Check my Project Wonderful Proof of Payment here.
So the question is "If it is scam then why do they pay their members. I don't think it is scam at all. It is legitimate and paying.
It is true that it is not easy making money with the program, especially if your blog is not generating high traffic - but $10 a month is better than nothing, ayt? Placing advertisement banner in my blog's sidebar waiting for an advertiser to bid won't hurt. I don't have to worry if someone will click the ads. All I have to concentrate on is the traffic to keep people from advertising.
Now, is Project Wonderful scam? In my opinion, the answer is NO.
Are you familiar with this line? Anyone of you received an email with the title "Your PayPal account has been limited!"? Well, if you do be sure not to click the link because if you did, then you are already the next victim of one of the Paypal phishing scams spreading in the Internet. If you haven't received any yet, then it's better to be informed as early as now.
After opening my Yahoo email account earlier today, I was shocked after seeing an email with the title as above. What?! My Paypal account has been limited? How come?!
Of course from the moment I saw the title of the email I am sure it is another phishing email trying to steal my credit card info. Why? Simply because of three reasons. First, the email address where I receive the email wasn't the one I am using for my Paypal transactions. Second, according to Paypal's official website, they don't actually send emails that are related to updating accounts of their users. Lastly, the email address of the sender was paypal@alertes.com which is obviously not Paypal's official address.

In case you receive an email similar as above, ignore it and better yet, delete it... before anyone could steal your info - or worst, your money.
I should have titled this post "AWSurvey is scam!!!" but because I heard some people claim it is not, I finally decided to make the title in a questioning manner "Is AWSurvey scam or genuine?" to be fair enough.
Okay, I joined AWSurveys on April 14, 2008 because I heard someone was paid 50 dollars (the minimum payout is $75 but you were deducted $25 if you requested thru Paypal payout). Actually, I already heard about this program last year when I was still a newbie money-maker. But because I found out through reading forum web sites that it is scam, I did not give it any attention at all.
However just recently, since I was shown with a proof of payment, I joined. I have nothing to lost because it is free. I completed about six (I forgot the exact number) surveys and I earned $27 on my first day. Wow!!! After completing the surveys, I immediately posted AWSurveys banners in this blog to gain referrals because for every referral, I can earn $1.25...
On the next day, I tried logging in my AWSurveys account to check if someone joined and to my dismay, I can't login. Whhhaaatttt!?! Why?!!! I am sure my username and password are correct. I tried again and failed... so I decided to email their support (for thrice now) and again, to my dismay, I haven't received any response yet.
I read several forums sites to check other members feedback on AWSurveys and I wasn't relieved because most of their members were unsatisfied. Most of them claimed it is scam. Should I join their movement too?
That's the purpose of this blog post... I hereby second the motion that AWSurveys is scam. Why? Because if it is not, then why did their support never reply my three emails? If it is not, why can't I not log-in knowing I entered the correct username and password. If it is not, why did there are other people claiming it is scam? If it is not, why did they never paid their other members? If it is not, why do they have to deduct $25 for sending your money through Paypal, knowing that sending money through Paypal is absolutely free? Also, their $1.25 for every referrals sounds too good to be true (just my opinion).
Anyway, I don't know about you if you think AWSurveys is scam or genuine... but as for me, it is nothing but scam and I will put it now in my scam list!!! AWSurveys is scam ;0
As I always mention on my previous posts, making money online is not easy as it requires a lot of effort and patience. Also, it is not easy because you have to invest your time researching for related information about each program you join, verifying if it's legit or not. Speaking of illegitimate programs, have you ever considered yourself as online victim? Were you ever scammed?
I am sure we all hate scammers. That's why we often take extra precautions to protect ourselves from getting scammed. Back to the question, were you ever scammed online? I am sure most of you reading this post will answer back Yes. I hope you will leave a comment just to let me know. I did... and I am hoping I won't be in the future again. It is disappointing when you invested most of your time in a program to make money, only to find out that they will not pay you. Anyway, as the saying goes - you will know unless you try - I guess getting scammed is a lesson learned for me. I posted before about BuxTo and shared my opinion if it is scam or not. If you want to read that post, click Is BuxTo Another Scam Online Program? Well, I have finally decided to include BuxTo in my scam programs list. Why? Because they haven't paid me... and I think they have no plan to pay me at all. It's not only me who claimed that BuxTo is scam. I've read in several forums and blogs saying BuxTo is scam. At first, I did not believe them, but after my experience of not receiving my own earnings, then I can certify them as scam.
I reached their $10.00 minimum payout last December 15, 2007 and I immediately requested for a payout. According to their FAQ, it will only take a maximum of 30 days to send my earnings thru my Paypal account. Thirty days is a long wait. Why would sending only $10.00 take that long??! Okay... though that's a long wait, I still waited. Today is February 8, 2008 and I still have no news on why my earnings haven't arrived at my Paypal account yet. It's been 54 days!!!
I tried contacting them but to my disappointment, they don't have a Contact Us option. What a scam!!! I currently have more than $20 in my BuxTo account but I no longer care. They even switched their mode of payment from Paypal to AlertPay without informing their members. There are a lot of discrepancies on their website too.

Recently, I was asked by a fellow blogger if it's safe to give his Paypal email address to different websites. I answered "Yes. It is 100% safe to give your Paypal email address to anyone, as long as you will not give your password."
Paypal is a safe way to receive money online. It's up to you if you'll keep your account safe or not. As safety precautions, here are some tips you should take note in doing your Paypal transactions.
1. Always make sure that you directly go to Paypal's website. Type in your browser https://www.paypal.com. In case you receive an email informing you to update your Paypal information, verify first if the email actually came from Paypal. Beware of Phishing emails. You must read my post titled Important: Security Alert on Your Paypal Account for more information about the Paypal scam.

2. Choose a password with strong security. Use a combination of numbers and letters. As Paypal's recommendation, change your password every 30 days. I also suggest that you use an email address different from your personal email address. Create an email address that is specifically for your Paypal transactions only.

WHAT ARE PHISHING AND SPAM EMAILS?
First let's define what "Phishing" means. According to Wikipedia, phishing is an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. eBay, PayPal and online banks are common targets. Phishing is typically carried out by email or instant messaging, and often directs users to enter details at a website, although phone contact has also been used...
Now that you know what phishing means, the next thing you should do is to be SAFE. Beware of who and where you submit your personal information, especially your credit card information or account passwords.
Most of the time, we receive an email informing us that we have to update our personal information or something saying we won $500 and we should submit our information to receive the price. These are some examples of phishing and spam emails. How come you won a price when you did not join in any contest afterall?
Remember my post about Paypal titled Important Security Alert on Your Paypal Account wherein I mentioned about an email requiring me to update my personal information? Of course, I already know that this is a phishing email because the email address where I received the email is not used for my Paypal transactions. Also, the email address used is not actually Paypal's adress.
So what we should do to protect our critical data? As I stated earlier, the best thing we should do is not to share our email address to anyone, especially if he or she is a complete stranger. Don't trust anyone in the Internet. You would not know who is true and who are not. Just be safe.

I've been a member of SlashMySearch, a paid to search program, for almost six months now, and I admit I have been paid $20 once. I like SlashMySearch its idea - it pays its members for every search. For a month, I make not less than a hundred dollars ($100). But today, I get disappointed because I learned that SlashMySearch is another scam program! What a waste of time!
I stop being an active member of SlashMySearch after getting my $20 earnings two months ago. But upon reading in MyLot that SlashMySearch changed its policy in paying its members, I decided to be an active again. You can read more its new policy by clicking I Make Money With Slashmysearch.
Anyway, after being an active member for less than a month, I earned $76.00 and counting - thanks to my referrals. Last week, I tried requesting a payout, however, to my disappointment, it said that I can not request any payout yet. What?! I reached the $20 minimum payout so how can I not request a payout?!
I decided to contact Admin, but to date, I haven't received any reply yet. So, I tried reading the SlashMySearch forum, to check if there are members encountering similar issues like me. Reading the forum is also a disappointment. Looks like almost all members are disappointed, too. Admin is out of sight too. He's not replying the members' queries for months now. Where's SlashMySearch Admin?!
Being that, I decided I should stop using and promoting SlashMySearch, because it is plainly waste of time. SlashMySearch is scam!!!
I read from several forum sites such as MyLot wherein members are claiming that BuxTo is scam. According to them, BuxTo don't pay their members. They requested payout but never received any. Despite that, there are still some members who proved that it is not a scam, wherein they received payment. They even show some proof of payments.
Well, let's see.
Just recently, I reached the minimum payout of $10 and requested a payout through my PayPal account. I am still waiting for the money and so far I haven't received it yet. According to BuxTo, payments will be processed and issued via PayPal within 30 business days. Since it's been only about seven days since I requested, maybe I will have to wait for about three weeks. It's a long wait for $10, but I still keep on waiting just to prove if they are really scam or not.

Nowadays, there are too many programs in the Internet that claim we can make money with them. Some are free while others are not. Of course most of us prefer joining the free programs. But don't you know that even free programs are sometimes scam?
We join these programs and do our best effort to reach the minimum payout. Then, the next thing we know, that particular program is nothing but a scam. Isn't it annoying when you just wasted your time with that program and get nothing in the end?

Had you read a sentence similar as the one above? Maybe somewhere or from some program you joined lately or a program you are about to join.
I am sure you did. Well, I did. Many times, actually.
When I was new to online business, I used to read a statement where the author wrote something like "This is a one time offer! Join now or else the price will be higher tomorrow. Don't let this great opportunity slip or else you will regret later". Well, it's not the exact statement but it works like that.
So, the lesson here is don't get with their tactics easily. Before joining any program, check it if it's real or not. Do some research. Read reviews or forums from their members. Don't get yourself into their tactics, or else you will regret later :D

Listed above are some emails that are known to be spam or unsolicited commercial email.
I am sure most of us receive lots of junk or deceptive email messages everyday? If you do, here are some tips I can share to avoid yourself from receiving junk emails.
1. If possible, do not to display your email address in public such as newsgroup postings, chat rooms, websites, or in an online service's membership directory. Spammers may use them to gather email addresses.
2. Before submitting your address to a website, check the privacy policy. Verify if it allows the company to sell your address. Do not submit your email address at websites that won't guard it. If the website appears to be deceitful, think twice before submitting your personal information.
4. Better use two email addresses — one for personal messages and one for newsgroups and chat rooms. I personally use three emails on my own - one for business, one for personal, and one for my online matters. This avoids me from receiving spam emails from my personal email address.
If you receive deceiving emails from people you don't personally know, IGNORE or DELETE it. Try not to open emails that are already in your Spam or Bulk folder. Here are some tips that you should do with spam emails:
1. If the sender appear to be bogus, don’t open it
2. Don't click on links, as these may be a phishing link.
3. Don't open any attachments.
4. Don't reply or respond in any way.
5. Don't be tempted to believe that anything said in a spam email is true. Think twice. Want to read the rest of the post? Go here...
Today, I received an email from PayPal titled "Important: Security Alert on Your PayPal Account".
I already know this email is spam yet I still opened it because of curiosity. I want to know what the email exactly contains. I know this email is spam because, first, the email address where I received this email is not the one I use for my Paypal transactions. Second, I haven't requested for any payment recently so how come there is an error processing my payment request?
When I checked the sender, it looks like it was from Paypal(service@email.paypal.com) . But then, instead of updating my information using the link on the email, I directly emailed Paypal and verified this email. They verified that the email did not come from them.

If you're new to online money-making, perhaps you're not yet aware of those scam online programs. The internet offers a wide variety of online money-making sites, thus it is important to know which programs are legitimate and fraud.
So, how are you going to verify if the program you are joining is LEGIT?
1. Search. The first thing you should do, which I personally do, is to search the Internet thru your favorite search engine like Google or Yahoo for reviews or forums about the earning site you are planning to join. Read 
what other people say and think about the program. Remember: do not just rely on only one review or forum. Gather information about the program as many as possible taking in consideration the good and bad side of the program. Note that if there are people who are unsatisfied with the said program, then it is better to think twice before signing up.
2. Ask. If you are a member to a forum site, then I advise you to post a discussion asking other members for their personal experiences about the said program. As stated earlier, don’t just look at the good side. Focus more on the bad side of the program. If you think it is not worthy to join, then don’t. But if you think it is worth a try, then go for it.
3. Assess. The third and last thing you should do is to review how the site earns. If the offer sounds too good to be true, then don’t join. Just forget about it and don’t waste your time and money over something that is uncertain. Remember that the Internet is a place of online scammers, so beware. Better be aware from the start rather than regretting in the end.
